  About the book:

Have you ever thought about praying for your future husband?
Will it make a difference?
There's only one way to find out…

From when we were small girls, most of us dream of “The One,” our future husband. We think about what it would be like to be a bride. We wonder who that special guy is and when we'll find him. The great news is that what you do now can make a difference in your life and the life of your future husband!

Authors and good friends Robin Jones Gunn (Christy Miller series) and Tricia Goyer (author and former teen mom) believe God answers women's prayers for husbands—even husbands they may not meet for years. They invite young women to pray boldly for their future mate … while also asking God to prepare their own hearts.

In Praying for Your Future Husband, Robin and Tricia share their two vastly different experiences, including the things they did right and the mistakes they made on the path to meeting and marrying their husbands. Each chapter includes helpful Bible verses, prayers, and practical application, along with true stories of women who prayed for a husband and how God answered in remarkable ways.

God has a beautiful romance prepared for you. Prayer is the key to unlocking the love story … with your future husband and with God, the lover of your soul.

My thoughts:

Praying for Your Future Husband was a great non-fiction read! While the book is obviously about praying for your future husband, it's also about what you can do now to become the woman he'll need.
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. - Psalm 27:14
Let me say, I was challenged and affected by a lot in Praying for Your Future Husband. I am not great with patience, sometimes have trouble with being content, etc. Yet those are qualities I would want my future husband to have.

So while I wait for him to come, I need to pray for both of us (my future husband and me) to grow in love, patience, kindness, etc. - and in our relationship with God. Also, I desire marriage, but if I never do get married, I have to trust that God's plan is best - because it is, even if I can't see it now.
He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. - Psalm 145:19
I really loved the "She Prayed... God Answered" sections in Praying for Your Future Husband and I also liked getting to know Tricia Goyer and Robin Jones Gunn more - I've read some of their fiction books, but this contained some of their very own personal stories.
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. - Isaiah 1:18
When reading Praying for Your Future Husband, I found many of the things mentioned were things I had thought before - especially regarding trust/worry.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. - Romans 10:9
Praying for Your Future Husband was also great in the fact that if you're a believer - if you believe in the Gospel - you are new! You've been forgiven for your past, present, and future sins because of Jesus's death, burial, and resurrection!
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. - 2 Corinthians 5:17
Overall, Praying for Your Future Husband was a wonderful read that has challenged me to both pray for my future husband and prepare my heart for his.

I definitely recommend this book!!

*I read my own personal copy and was not required to review it. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.*

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8
