  What I've read this week:

Kinda sad that I only read ONE book this week... hopefully I'll read more this coming week. :)

What I think I'll read soon:

About Swipe:

Everyone gets the Mark. It gives all the benefits of citizenship. Yet if getting the Mark is such a good thing, then why does it feel so wrong?

Set in a future North America that is struggling to recover after famine and global war, Swipe follows the lives of three kids caught in the middle of a conflict they didn’t even know existed. United under a charismatic leader, every citizen of the American Union is required to get the Mark on their 13th birthday in order to gain the benefits of citizenship.

The Mark is a tattoo that must be swiped by special scanners for everything from employment to transportation to shopping. It’s almost Logan Langly’s 13th birthday and he knows he should be excited about getting the Mark, but he hasn’t been able to shake the feeling he’s being watched. Not since his sister went to get her Mark five years ago . . . and never came back.

When Logan and his friends discover the truth behind the Mark, will they ever be able to go back to being normal teenagers? Find out in the first book of this exciting series that is Left Behind meets Matched for middle-grade readers.

About Conception:

"I do not think it is a question of where, but when." were the words that Charis left my mother with thirty years ago when I disappeared from Meric . . . before I was born.

Shortly after being sent back I've been attacked by man-eating Vaipes. I've learned that my father was a power wielding Guardian. I've discovered that the silvery-blue eyes intriguing me my entire life belong to my Watcher, Shaw who is without a doubt the most handsome man I have ever seen. And somehow I need to stop a war mongering tyrant who can manipulate people's thoughts.

So my question isn't where or when. It is how? How can I help the people of Meric when I can't stop myself from falling in love?

About Prism:

He wanted to bring light to the world, but knew that along with it would come darkness...
Alejo is a leader in the Prism, a Muslim organization bent on fighting social injustice in his native Bolivia. His passion for God's justice has always led him far away from the church and its dark secrets he has seen with his own eyes.
Until now.
Wara Cadogan's friends think she's the ideal missionary in Bolivia, but they don't know the truth: she betrayed her values, and it's tearing her apart. When Wara and her best friend Noah collide with the Prism, she believes Noah is dead and Alejo is to blame.
She should hate him.
He's a killer. Who took everything from her.
What is she supposed to do when he gives up everything to save her?

  1. I Kissed Dating Goodbye is an EXCELLENT book!! My husband and I courted for nine months before we got engaged. Before I met my husband I never knew anything about courting instead of dating. I read this book after we were married (15 years ago!) and I have shared it with so many youth and young adults over the years. I highly recommend it!
Excited to be following your blog and look forward to reading your thoughts on this book and many more :)

  2. I've been in the slumps reading-wise lately and only read 2 books this week. Here is my weekend report: http://myfavoritepastime.blogspot.com/

Looks like there are some good books you plan to read! I'm in gift-making mode for Christmas so have slowed way down in the reading department.

    Have a great week!

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8
