Review: Full Disclosure by Dee Henderson

Full Disclosure by Dee Henderson

About the book:

Dee Henderson Is Back!

Ann Silver is a cop's cop. As the Midwest Homicide Investigator, she is called in to help local law enforcement on the worst of cases, looking for answers to murder. Hers is one of the region's most trusted investigative positions.

Paul Falcon is the FBI's top murder cop in the Midwest. If the victim carried a federal badge or had a security clearance, odds are good Paul and his team see the case file or work the murder.

Their lives intersect when Ann arrives to pass a case off her desk and onto his. A car wreck and a suspicious death offer a lead on a hired shooter he is tracking. Paul isn't expecting to meet someone, the kind that goes on the personal side of the ledger, but Ann Silver has his attention.

The better he gets to know her, the more Paul realizes her job barely scratches the surface of who she is. She knows spies and soldiers and U.S. Marshals, and has written books about them. She is friends with the former Vice President. People with good reason to be cautious about who they let into their lives deeply trust her. Paul wonders just what secrets Ann is keeping, until she shows him the John Doe Killer case file, and he starts to realize just who this lady he is falling in love with really is.

My thoughts:

I have mixed feelings about Full Disclosure. I really enjoyed some parts, but then I also thought some of it was just okay. I liked the characters and found it interesting the way Dee Henderson chose to incorporate the O'Malley's in this new book - she definitely took it somewhere I was not expecting.

There were some things I didn't like. One thing in particular was how at times Full Disclosure put words in God's mouth and said He told a certain character something that isn't even in the Bible. I really didn't like that - it's one of my pet-peeves with books.

The mystery was good and I had fun trying to figure out who L.S. was and what all went on years ago. I also liked the romance between Paul and Ann.

So while Full Disclosure isn't my favorite Dee Henderson novel, I liked it and am glad she's back. If you like mysteries with some romance, then I think you might enjoy Full Disclosure.

*I borrowed this book from the library. I also received an ARC galley copy for my review. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion - which I've done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.*

  2. Thanks for your honest review. Even if I don't read the book, it's nice to know the O'Malleys are still around. I missed them. ;)

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8
