Shadows of Pain by Ashley Dawn
Shadow Series: Book Three
Nov. 2011
About the book:
Revenge is sweet…unless you are on the receiving end of it.
“Do you know of anyone who would want…you dead?”
Officer Daniel Jenkins was no stranger to the dangers his job posed but usually he knew who was trying to kill him. Being stalked was a completely different ball game, and he wasn’t sure there were any rules…
“…I need you.”
Terrified didn’t even begin to describe how Kami felt with the stalker targeting her. As an FBI agent you were trained to handle stressful situations, but being the victim put the whole process in a different light.
As the killer gets closer, so do Kami and Daniel, but will they live long enough to see their love bloom?
Only God can save them from this unknown killer…
My rating:
My thoughts:Shadows of Pain is the third book I've read by Ashley Dawn and I found it to be another good suspense novel. Even though I've read the first two books in the Shadow series, it's been a while and I found myself a little confused about who everyone was... it would have been nice if things would have been explained a little more.
I liked both of the main characters in Shadows of Pain (Daniel and Kami) and getting updates on the main characters from the previous books. I did think the writing was a little repetitive at times, but the story was still really good.
While I don't think this is my favorite of the series, I still enjoyed it a lot and look forward to reading more by Ashley Dawn in the future. If you like suspense novels with some romance, then I think you might like Shadows of Pain, but I recommend first reading books one and two (Shadows from the Past and Shadows of Suspicion), because otherwise I think you'll be really confused.
*I received a complimentary eBook copy of this book for my review. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion - which I've done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.*

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8
