Welcome to Christian Bookshelf Reviews, Sarah!! Will you tell us a little about yourself?
Thank you so much for having me! I am so excited to be here. I live in Indiana and I am a wife to an amazing husband and mother to a sweet daughter. In addition to writing, I work in marketing.

What is your book, The Heiress of Winterwood, about?
Here is a quick overview:

Amelia Barrett, heiress to an estate nestled in the English moors, defies family expectations and promises to raise her dying friend’s baby. She’ll risk everything to keep her word—even to the point of proposing to the child’s father—a sea captain she’s never met.

When the child vanishes with little more than an ominous ransom note hinting at her whereabouts, Amelia and Graham, the child’s father, are driven to test the boundaries of their love for this little one.

Amelia’s detailed plans would normally see her through any trial, but now, desperate and shaken, she’s forced to examine her soul and face her one weakness: pride.

Graham’s strength and self-control have served him well and earned him much respect, but chasing perfection has kept him a prisoner of his own discipline. And away from the family he has sworn to love and protect.

Both must learn to have faith and relinquish control so they can embrace the future ahead of them.

The Heiress of Winterwood is the beginning to a series, correct? How many books are planned and who will the next books be about?
You are correct! There are three books in the Whispers on the Moors series.  The 2nd book in the series, The Headmistress of Rosemere, tells William Sterling’s story (William is the brother of the hero in The Heiress of Winterwood), and it will release this December. I am currently writing the 3rd book in the series.  The title is still being finalized.

What is something the average reader wouldn't know about you?
I am an avid gardener … I love spending warm afternoons out in the sunshine. My favorite flower to grow? Morning glories.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?  
On some level I have always written. I wrote short stories and poems when I was young, but I didn’t start writing novels until after college.

How many books have you written/published and do you have a favorite?
I have written 3 books. The Heiress of Winterwood was my first novel. The 2nd novel, The Headmistress of Rosemere, will release soon, and I am finishing the 3rd book right now. As far as having a favorite, I would have to say “whichever one I am working on”!

What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?
I have an “ugly writing sweater” that I like to wear when I write.  It is not pretty to look at, but it is warm, fuzzy, and cozy.

Where do you like to write?
I usually write in my home office or curled up on the couch in my living room, but I do like to sometime venture out to a local coffee shop for a change of scenery.

What do you like to do when you're not writing? 
I love spending time and doing things with my family!  I also like to spend time in my garden and with friends.

What is your favorite genre to read and why? 
I read a lot of Christian historical fiction, but I also read a great deal of classic literature, especially classic literature from the Romantic Era.  I suppose that is where my love for the Regency period first started. I love the insight that classic literature gives us into the culture and into the “everyday lives” of the time.

Is there a place you’d like to visit, but haven’t yet? 
I have been to both England and Scotland, but I have not yet visited Ireland.  I would love to visit there one day.

Do you have a favorite Bible verse?
Philippians 4:6-7:  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

What is your favorite holiday? 
Christmas! (Thanksgiving is a close second J )
