3-Year Blogoversary Party ~ Interview with Lynette Eason and Giveaway! (Final Day)

Welcome to Christian Bookshelf Reviews, Lynette! Thanks for celebrating my blog's 3-Year Blogoversary with us! Will you tell us a little about yourself?

Sure…Here’s my bio:

Lynette Eason is the best selling, award winning author of the Women of Justice Series, the Deadly Reunions series and the now releasing, Hidden Identity Series. She writes for Revell and Harlequin’s Love Inspired Suspense line. Her books have appeared on the CBA and ECPA bestseller lists. She has won several awards including the 2013 Carol Award for WHEN A HEART STOPS in the Romantic Suspense category. Lynette teaches at writing conferences all over the country. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) and Romance Writers of America (RWA). Lynette can be found online at www.lynetteeason.com and www.facebook.com/lynette.eason and @lynetteeason on Twitter.

How many books have you written/published and which one was the toughest to write?

I always get stumped at this question. I don’t keep up with how many I’ve written. Let’s just say it’s in the 25 range. The toughest one to write is always the one I’m working on!

Your newest book, No One To Trust, is the first book in the new series Hidden Identity. Will you tell readers about the book/series and if there will be any recurring characters?

No One To Trust introduces a new set of characters who are on the run for their lives. And yes, there are recurring characters throughout the series.

What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?

I don't know if it’s a quirk or not, but I can write in spurts throughout the day. Meaning, I can be working, get interrupted and pick up right where I left off without trouble. I think my brain is always working on the story.

What is something the average reader wouldn't know about you?

I’m fluent in American Sign Language.

Where do you like to write?

Anywhere I can find a spot! But my favorite place is at the café in my local Barnes and Noble. I always seem to get so much done there!

When you are writing a book, do you just write as you go or do you have a set outline for the novel?

I have a good idea of the opening, a few scenes in the middle and how it will end. Sometimes I do a character sketch so I can get to know my characters a bit before I start writing about them and I may do a short synopsis of the beginning of the story, but I don’t formally outline.

What is the best and/or worst part about being a writer?

Best – I can set my own hours. Worst – Getting close to deadline and not being ready to turn in the book. It’s a lot of stress.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I love to read a good book simply for pleasure. I enjoy hanging out with my family and playing racquetball. I also love to travel and don’t get to do enough of it!

What is your favorite genre to read and why?

Romantic Suspense because it’s what got me started writing in the first place.

Is there a place you’d like to visit, but haven’t yet?

Belize

Do you have a favorite Bible verse?

Probably Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Do you have a favorite song and/or movie?

I’m not really into music much, but if I had to pick a favorite song, it would be Mandisa’s Overcomer for various reasons. Favorite movie? National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation – the clean version.

What's your favorite season and why is it your fav?

Fall. I can’t stand hot weather. I hate summer and spring. Those two seasons could be removed from the calendar as far as I’m concerned. LOL. I really need to move to Alaska or somewhere like that.

What's your favorite party food?

Spicy chicken wings

Some this-or-that questions:

Snowstorms or Thunderstorms?  Snowstorms
Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate
Tea or Coffee? Tea
Call or Text? Text
Cats or Dogs? Dogs
Mystery or Romance? Mystery
Early-bird or Night-owl? Early-bird
Introvert or Extrovert? Introvert
Facebook or Twitter? Neither…ugh. I can’t stand social media. LOL. I use it under protest.

Are you currently working on any new novels? If so, would you give us a hint?

I’m currently working on the third book in the Hidden Identity series.

Thank you so much for being here! Is there anything else you’d like to tell readers and where can we find you on the web?

  2. Your new book from your new series Hidden Identity " No One to Trust" sounds like something I would love to read. I like suspense. I looked the book up in Goodreads and everyone gave you a positive review. From your interview with Melanie I see an adorable puppy at least he/she looks like a pup. I have two older dogs that I got as puppies. They are the best. Best wishes on your new series.

  3. I am with you about the heat. Are your suspense books and legal books due to any type of legal background? How much research time do you spend on an average for each book?
