Valentine's Day is a little over a week away and today I have a fun post to share with you. FaithWords is giving away two new books (plus a chocolate bar!) and the editor who acquired both books has written a letter to readers.
~
Dear Reader,
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! The crisp, cool air feels a little sweeter and stores are filling their shelves with greeting cards and candies. But instead of sharing the usual gifts, the way to someone’s heart can be through a story (and maybe a little bit of chocolate). Hachette Book Group is offering a “Give Books, Not Roses” Valentine’s Day giveaway for those of you who want to express your admiration for friends, family, and loved ones.
Love Gently Falling written by Melody Carlson is a romantic novella about the power of Valentine’s Day and how one woman discovers love while at the same time saving her family’s business. Successful hairstylist to the stars Rita Jensen returns to her hometown in Chicago after receiving news that her mother has suffered a stroke. Though Rita must come up with a plan to save her mother’s salon, the oncoming holiday and her undeniable feelings for an old classmate become quite a distraction.
Keys of Heaven is the second book in Adina Senft’s Healing Grace trilogy. Amish widow Sarah Yoder helps her community by creating teas and tinctures from the herbs she grows. She struggles to find love with an Amish man, and she doesn’t know what to do about her attraction to her friend Henry Byler, who has turned away from her beliefs. Sarah’s story will show anyone that romantic love is not the only love that matters.
Valentine’s Day is an internationally celebrated day of romance, dating back to the 5th Century. But today, love touches our lives in so many different ways. Whether you are dedicating the day to your good friends or your life partner, treat them to these wonderful stories of courage, kindness, and love.
Sincerely,
Christina Boys
Editor of LOVE GENTLY FALLING and KEYS OF HEAVEN

What a fun giveaway! I have always loved Valentine's Day ... regardless of if I was romantically involved or not. It's just a fun day to celebrate friends, family, and thank God for the love He has given us. Excited to read these books!
ReplyDeleteBooks are much better than roses! No allergy problems from books! We all need to practice Philippians 4:8 more!
ReplyDeleteNice giveaway! My hubby and I usually spend Valentine's Day going out to dinner and a movie. We don't always get each other gifts, but if we do my hubby usually will give me chocolate, jewelry, or something else that is pretty :)

I love getting books instead of flowers. Unfortunately the only way my hubby could get me a book would be a gift card. He would be afraid of getting something I have already read. So, I usually get chocolate and if we happen to be in town I might get flowers.
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie. Sounds like a great Valentine's Day gift. Would love to win. Both books sound good.
ReplyDeleteWish all a Happy Valentine's day. Will be hard for my oldest daughter since she was married on the 13th and so that holiday was special. And it will soon be 3 years ago that he passed away at 61. And, my Valentine has been gone for 18 years in April. Was buried on my birthday. Still miss him. He loved Holidays. Once we got each other the same Anniversary card. We laughed that we would pick the same one. My girls have the same trouble with buying books for me. Maxie > mac262(at)me(dot)com <
