Therefore, whenever I come across a "Christian" author with whom my beliefs and moral compass simply do not mesh, I no longer read them. In fact, I rarely finish their books. In my opinion, a Christian author should set a moral compass with the Bible as direct North and anything that could mislead or cause another person to stumble should be absolutely eliminated.Vera Godleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00511948370346834218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6671536239032927337.post-23738821380564782222012-05-05T17:53:02.813-05:002012-05-05T17:53:02.813-05:00Excellent post...Excellent post...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06150136011032761640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6671536239032927337.post-41698640408081533972012-05-05T16:23:31.915-05:002012-05-05T16:23:31.915-05:00Thanks for your thoughts!!Thanks for your thoughts!!Melaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16540794842265255236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6671536239032927337.post-41162325624779217082012-05-05T16:14:34.092-05:002012-05-05T16:14:34.092-05:00I feel that I am responsible for myself and what I...I feel that I am responsible for myself and what I do, an author is not responsible for that. There are some authors who have said that they use writing as their own type of ministry to people, not saying that it has to be that way for everyone. But I do hold Christian authors to a higher standard of responsibility for their books and what they put in them. For example if I were to read a secular book and strongly disagreed with it, I would be more likely to shrug it off and say that I didn't expect them to have a worldview that totally aligned with my own. Sorry if it sounds like I'm being super-tough on Christian authors! But I love Christian fiction because of how it sets itself apart from the other books out there with the values and faith elements :)

Hopefully this makes sense!
