My thoughts:
End Game was a fantastic start to Dylan's new series, Capital Intrigue, and I can't wait to read more! The suspense had me hooked and I was intrigued throughout. So many twists and turns!

I loved the characters. They had so much depth. I enjoyed getting to know them more and the romance was nice, as well.

All in all, End Game is my favorite Rachel Dylan book yet! It was difficult to put down and I definitely recommend it to fans of romantic suspense.

My thoughts:
I'm a huge fan of Susan May Warren's novels, so it's no surprise that this book automatically made it on to my want-to-read shelf. ;) I enjoyed this introduction to a new series and the characters were great.

It took me a little bit to get into the story, but towards the end I had a difficult time putting it down and am SO eager to read the next one. I can't wait to see what happens with THOSE characters. Lol!

The Way of the Brave had so many intense moments. I found the pacing to be fast from the middle point of the story on. The romance was pretty good, although I wasn't a huge fan of it for some reason. Also, I did have a little difficultly keeping the characters straight at first.

All in all, though, the ending was fantastic and I really liked the story. As I said, I'm looking forward to the next book.

My thoughts:

A Defense of Honor is the first book in Hunter's Havon Manor series and a wonderful historical read. It took me a little bit to get into the story, but it wasn't long before I grew to love the characters.

I found it fascinating how Kit found herself in the situation she was in...and a little sad, too, that things went the way they did. I loved how she helped so many children, even if some of her actions to help them weren't the best.

All in all, A Defense of Honor was very good and I recommend it!

My thoughts:

I'm reviewing both Words of Comfort for Women and Words of Hope for Women today. The books are pretty similar, although focus of different things - one on hope and the other on comfort. While they are short devotionals, I can see them helping during those times of life.

The readings are short (two pages each) and feature a Bible passage at the beginning. I appreciated that aspect, since Scripture should be the focus, I feel, in devotionals.

I didn't find the devotions to be super deep or filled with theology, so just know that these are lighter reads and not for study.

All in all, I think these are good devotionals.

My thoughts:
Fatal Memories was really good! This is one of my favorite amnesia stories I've read recently; I feel like it was written very well and I found it to be believable.

I liked how we didn't know if the heroine was framed or not. I found myself questioning whether she was guilty or not and that is something I love in suspense stories.

All in all, I'm happy I read Fatal Memories and definitely recommend it if you are looking for a quick romantic suspense story.

It has long been my husband’s desire to travel the country in a motorhome. So when he retired three years ago, we sold our home and hit the road. We lived in the high desert region of Southern California for almost 37 years. I thought it was going to be a rough transition, but it wasn’t…especially since I came to love one of our new locations.

We spend the winter months in southern Arizona where Fatal Memories is set. I love everything about this unique place. We are surrounded by incredible ecosystems…the Sonoran and Chihuahua deserts collide there, so a different environment is around every corner. The beauty of the mountains, streams and lakes (yes, there’s water in southern Arizona—monsoons come up from Baja every summer) and the wildlife is amazing. I’ve been told black panthers have been known to cross the border from Mexico and roam the countryside. My husband and I bought a Jeep so we could go off-roading to see these sites up close and personal.

In addition to all these amazing natural wonders, history jumps out and grabs me. I’m just twenty minutes from Tombstone. Fort Huachuca and Fort Bowie are forty miles away in different directions. Every time I turn around, there’s a history making site or event to grab my interest. I hope you can see why I fell in love with my new home. I hope you will too when you read Fatal Memories.

Review: A Distance Too Grand by Regina Scott

My thoughts:

A Distance Too Grand was different than I was expecting, but nonetheless a good read overall.

I enjoyed the setting and how the heroine was so passionate about photography. Reading some of the descriptions on the scenery was so good and I liked that part.

The characters were fine, although I never felt connected to them and I don't know why...maybe because of the romance and the way that played out. Although I had a difficult time empathizing with the heroine at times, I did enjoy it in the end.

All in all, A Distance Too Grand was enjoyable to read and I recommend it to fans of this genre. I look forward to Regina Scott's next novel.

Review: Christmas In Winter Hill by Melody Carlson

My thoughts:
Christmas In Winter Hill is a delightful Christmas read and one I highly recommend you add to your holiday reading this year. I loved how it wasn't 100% fluff, but was still a light read.

The characters were nice. I liked how Krista grew throughout the story and had so many layers. I felt bad for her and the things she went through in her childhood which caused her to dislike Christmas. I LOVED her daughter - she was so cute! Her joy for everything Christmas and winter was wonderful! I didn't love the romance, mainly because it felt a bit rushed, but the ending was good.

All in all, Christmas In Winter Hill was really good and I recommend it!

My thoughts:
I'm a huge fan of Dani Pettrey's previous two series, so it's no surprise that I was eager to pick up The Killing Tide as soon as possible.

I found the book easy to read. It started off great and I found the story to be enjoyable. The book was written very well and I liked the characters...although Gabby could be a little frustrating at times withe her carelessness.

All in all, The Killing Tide was very good and I'm looking forward to the next book; I have a feeling I know who the main characters will be and I can't wait for their story.

My thoughts:

Ford is the third book in the Montana Marshalls series. After reading the previous two books I was eager to continue the series with Ford. While this book was different than the first two, it was still very good.

I loved getting to read more about Ford. The little tease we got of his story in Tate made me excited to read more and see how it went. I felt for the heroine right away...to have things go the way they did for her was...heartbreaking at times.

All in all, Ford was a very good read. I don't think it is my favorite of the series, but it was still good.

My thoughts:

I'm a huge fan of Carol J. Post's Love Inspired Suspense stories, so I jumped at the chance to read this one. The cover is adorable and I love how the story revolves around a little girl.

The suspense was great. I had a hunch early on who the "bad guy" was and so when the reveal happened I wasn't surprised at all...but that didn't bother me. There were enough moments of danger and suspense to keep me interested.

The ending was intense -- I actually didn't know how things would turn out, but I'm very happy with the way it ended.

All in all, Dangerous Relations was a good read and I recommend to fans of this genre.

Abigail Wilson combines her passion for Regency England with intrigue and adventure to pen historical mysteries with a heart. A registered nurse, chai tea addict, and mother of two crazy kids, Abigail fills her spare time hiking the nation al parks, attending her daughter’s gymnastic meets, and curling up with a great book.

In 2017, Abigail won WisRWA’s Fab Five contest and in 2016, ACFW’s First Impressions contest as well as placing as a 2017 finalist in the Daphne du Maurier A ward for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense.

She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and currently lives in Dripping Springs, Texas, with her husband and children.

My thoughts:

Midnight on the River Grey was a captivating read. It started off slowly, but the story drew me in and I ended up really enjoying the book. I liked how it had so many twists and the mystery wasn't easy to guess.

The characters were well written. I found the heroine, Rebecca, to be a bit reckless at times, but I liked how she wasn't afraid of finding out the truth. Lewis was an interesting character...I didn't know at first whether he was a good guy or not!

All in all, Midnight on the River Grey was better than I hoped and I recommend it. I look forward to reading more of this author's books in the future.

Review: Summer by the Tides by Denise Hunter

My thoughts:

Summer by the Tides is the perfect summer read! While it is an easy, beach read it also has a great storyline and I felt for the characters deeply.

I loved how each of the sisters had something they were going through that the others didn't know. There were some bitter feelings from the past and it made for tension which made the ending even better. I also loved the romance; Connor was a wonderful hero and it was sweet to see their relationship grow.

All in all, Summer by the Tides was a fantastic read. I recommend it if you enjoy contemporary romance.

My thoughts:

Their Wyoming Courtship Agreement was such an adorable read!! I loved the characters and the storyline was so good. I enjoyed the fake courtship aspect, although you could tell right away that they had feelings for each other. ;)

The romance was wonderful. I liked how it was sort of a second chance romance, although not. The heroine had been engaged before to the hero's brother...but he had been drawn to her. So it was kind of a second chance for him. ;)

All in all, I loved this book. I recommend it and am sad that this line of Love Inspired Historicals has come to a close. I can't wait for Henrie's next story.
