But the more time Luke spends around the hardworking young woman, the more he finds himself thinking of things besides revenge. Will Ruthy convince him to give up his destructive path and be swept away by love?

My thoughts:Having loved the three prior books I've read by Mary Connealy (Out of Control, In Too Deep, and Over the Edge), I could hardly wait to read Swept Away, book one in her new "Trouble in Texas" series. While I did still really like it, there was just something that kept me from loving it like I did the "Kincaid Brides" series.
I liked the new group of characters and found all of the "Regulators" individual stories very interesting. I loved how close they all were and that they were willing to die for justice. I felt really bad for Ruthy and all she had to go through in her life - she was such a strong woman.
I loved how Swept Away's story was slightly tied into the Kincaid Brides series - even though none of those characters were in this one, the connection was still neat. One thing I didn't like was when it seemed as though the characters would repeat themselves needlessly.
Swept Away had a lot of action and some suspenseful scenes. There were a few twists and my attention was held throughout. I also liked the humor in this novel - I couldn't stop myself from chuckling a few times.
Overall, a great read.While it's not my favorite Mary Connealy read to date, I did really like it and am looking forward to reading book two which is set to release September 2013 - it sounds like it's going to be fantastic! I recommend Swept Away if you enjoy historical books with romance, humor, and cowboys. :)

I have had my eye on "Swept Away", so was glad to see you giving your critique today. I enjoy Mary Connealy's writing style (and humor) for a semi light read. Her series "Lassoed in Texas" is still my personal favorite. I enjoyed the story line of the series "Montana Marriages", however some of the books contained incidents that were less than believable; and that takes from the enjoyment of the read for me. Those were the last of her books I read. Because of your critique, I want to give her "Kincaid Brides" series a try. Thanks for your honest evaluation and comments. I love the little jewels you tuck inside your critiques. They direct me to books I might otherwise not have considered.
