Welcome to Christian Bookshelf Reviews, Regina! Will you share a little about yourself and your latest book?
Thanks
for the warm welcome, Melanie! I’m the author of more than 30 sweet
historical romances and a major history geek in general. When I’m not
reading or writing, you’ll find me in museums or with reenactors
learning more about what life was like in the past. Although most of my
books have been set in the Regency period of England (think Jane Austen
and Napoleon), my last few books have been set much closer to home—in
pioneer Seattle. The fourth book in my Frontier Bachelors series was out
in January. Instant Frontier Family tells the story of a
young Irishwoman determined to make a prosperous life for herself and
her orphaned half sister and brother by starting a new bakery. Love is
not part of Maddie O’Rourke’s plan, until her siblings start
matchmaking.
What do you hope readers come away with after reading your newest story?
I
hope they come away with a sense of family, that love might mean
sacrifice, but when it’s done for those you love, it’s worth everything.
I love series. It’s too hard to say goodbye to characters after one book!
Who are some of your favorite authors whose books have never disappointed you?
The late Elizabeth Mansfield, Lloyd Alexander, Mary Stewart, and recently, Catherine Lloyd.
What's the last thing you celebrated, not including birthdays or holidays?
My husband recently earned his third degree black belt in Shudokan karate. I was so proud of him!
Absolutely!
During the summer, I would drag my red wagon to the library and bring
it home full of books. My favorite books growing up were Lloyd
Alexander’s Prydain series. I have reread it many times over the years,
including to my sons as they were growing up. He’s still on my top
author list (as you probably noticed above). J
Our family has been known to play cutthroat Uno. J
Some this-or-that questions:
Snowstorms or Thunderstorms? Snowstorms
Brownies or Cookies? Cookies
Call or Text? Text
Early-bird or Night-owl? Early-bird
Introvert or Extrovert? Introvert
Facebook or Twitter? Facebook
Mystery or Romance? Romance with a little mystery, or mystery with a lot of romance. J
Right
now, I’m finishing up the fifth book in my Frontier Bachelors series,
which will be out next December. My hero’s a bit of a Scrooge, but my
heroine is helping him see the wonders of Christmas. Between then and
now, I’ll have a book in the Lone Star Cowboy League: The Founding Years
series, behind Renee Ryan and Louise M. Gouge, about ranching families
in Texas banding together in times of trouble.
Thank you so much for being here! Is there anything else you’d like to tell readers and where can we find you on the web?

ReplyDeleteHello. You got me at Irishwoman. I love stories that have a foreign character. Something about a person outside of my personal bubble is fascinating to me. Thanks for your interview, it was really interesting. God bless!

ReplyDeleteCarrie, Uno Attack? Tell me more!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind comments on the interview, ladies!
ReplyDeleteI believe that we need a bigger sense of family. I'm glad that it is an important issue with you. Most families today are spread way too far apart. Sometimes even when they live in the same town.
ReplyDeleteGlad to read that Regina is a fellow introvert! Thanks for the wonderful interview. I really enjoyed reading it and would love to read Regina's books!
ReplyDeleteI have not read any of the Frontier Family books before and I am so glad I found out about them. I loved reading your interview and I agree that I love series books too. I love that the story doesn't have to end after one book; the adventure can keep going and going.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the Frontier Bachelors series. I am going to look for the books. I enjoyed this interview.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything by this author before, but these books look great. Gotta love historical fiction.

We play all kinds of games. I love dominoes
ReplyDeleteI read historicals, but I have only read suspense and contemporary in the Love Inspired books. Yet, today I started my first LI historical - Sherri Shackelford's, The Rancher's Christmas Proposal. I'm really enjoying it, so far. I appreciate that many of the LI historicals are a bit longer in length than many of the other genres.
ReplyDeleteI've seen blogger's that I follow comment on Regina's books and I look forward to continuing my LI historical reading with some of her books.
Nice interview! I love all your covers, Regina! Thanks for an awesome giveaway!

ReplyDeleteDianna
I enjoyed the RS books that I've read and have a few more that I hope to read this year. I'd like to try a non-Regency book by her.
