The Captain's Courtship by Regina Scott
Love Inspired Historical / 2012
About the book:
The dashing Captain Richard Everard has faced untold dangers at sea. Steering his young cousin through a London season, however, is a truly formidable prospect. The girl needs a sponsor, like lovely widow Lady Claire Winthrop—the woman who coldly jilted Richard years ago.
Claire believed herself sensible in marrying a well-to-do viscount rather than a penniless second son. How deeply she regretted it! Now their fortunes are reversed, and Richard's plan will help settle her debts and secure his inheritance. Yet it may yield something even more precious: a chance to be courted by the captain once more.

My review:
I read book one in the Everard Legacy earlier this year and really enjoyed it, so I was looking forward to reading book two, The Captain's Courtship. It didn't disappoint!
I loved the characters! I had already liked Richard, Vaughn, and Samantha from The Rogue's Reform, so it came as no surprise that I liked them in this book as well. I don't think Jerome, the other cousin, was in The Captain's Courtship at all. :( I'm hoping he'll be back in the third book, though.
A new character that I really liked was Claire. Claire was mentioned in The Rogue's Reform, but this book is the first time we meet her and learn her story. She had dealt with a lot in her life, so it was interesting to read her story and see where it took her.
The romance was sweet and overall I really enjoyed this book! It was a good historical romance read that I recommend if you enjoy these types of books.
*I received a complimentary copy of this book for my review. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion - which I've done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.*
