Review: The Missing Monarch by Rachelle McCalla

The Missing Monarch by Rachelle McCalla
Reclaiming the Crown series: Book Four
Love Inspired Suspense / 2012

About the book:

Six years ago Crown Prince Thaddeus abandoned his new bride and went into hiding. His motive was to protect his country and his family from a ruthless tyrant. But when his estranged wife tracks him down, Thaddeus knows it's time to make a stand. Restore the royal line. And reclaim the crown. Yet just as he learns about the family's new addition—his and Monica's son—little Peter becomes a target. In a deadly game of power, Thaddeus must choose between the country and heritage he's been raised to defend…and the woman he never could forget.

My thoughts:

It's official - I loved the entire Reclaiming the Crown series! While Prince Incognito is still my favorite, The Missing Monarch is a close second! I loved this book from the beginning pages on - it was great to be back in Lydia!

The Missing Monarch was different from the first three books in the fact that it didn't start with a retelling of the motorcade ambush, but instead started pretty much from where Prince Incognito ended, only from Thad's/Monica's perspective.

The story was fantastic and I loved getting to know both Thad and Monica's characters better - they quickly became new favorites of mine.

From this series, Rachelle McCalla has become one of my favorite authors and I'm looking forward to reading more of her books (especially her future books set in Lydia).

If you are a fan of books with some romance and suspense, then you should definitely check out The Missing Monarch - I loved it!

*I received a complimentary copy of this book for my review. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion - which I've done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.*

  1. Ths sounds like an interesting series. A 'royalty' series is a new idea for LI isn't it? I'll have to put it on my to-read list.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8
