About the Book
There’s no
rest for the fearful.
Ava always knew the bees would come. Just when she’s settled into a place of her own, freelance editing and savoring her independence, her rental house is invaded by a swarm of honey bees. And with their arrival, her lifelong fear morphs into a full-fledged panic that steals her sleep—and her peace of mind.
Keegan knows all about fear. When he meets Ava at the coffee shop where he works, he can’t help but come to her rescue. Together with his German shepherds, Sun and Moon, he sets out to break the “curse” that hovers over Tired Girl. But is it possible to conquer nightmares and live a dream while you're awake?
This sweet novelette is a contemporary re-imagining of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale that sheds light on the worries that bind us and the love that leads to peace.

Amber Stokes works as a marketing content writer for a
Christian publisher. On the side, she self-publishes inspirational fiction
depicting the seasons of life and love. Her passion for books compelled her to
earn a bachelor's degree in English and run her own freelance editing and
publicity business for over a year. Happily, this chapter of her career takes
place in the Pacific Northwest—a part of the world she's always considered

I fear birds. I know, I need help lol
ReplyDeleteAw, I could definitely see how birds could be frightening - especially certain species! Is there any particular kind of bird you fear, or just all of them? Thanks for being willing to share, Carrie. :)

My favorite coffee is decaf. highlander grog. Best stuff ever!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds intriguing! :)

I don't normally don't drink coffee, but do enjoy a Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino once in a while!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a coffee-drinker either, Patty! But that's cool to know you've found something coffee-esque you can enjoy now and then. :) Starbucks has some great treats!

Ooh...I like iced coffee. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for fearing...well, I guess persecution maybe? Though fear is a lack of trust in the Lord so I'm praying about that one. ;)
I am SO much a night owl! Like, my brain turns on at 10 p.m. It's pretty bad because I *do* need to get up in the mornings! :)
Thank you for sharing your responses, Amanda! Persecution is a tough one, for sure. It's comforting to know that the Lord will be with us no matter what. And I am a total night owl, too! Even though I also have to get up for work in the mornings... *sigh* ;)

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the kind words, Rissi!

That's impressive! I confess I haven't quite developed an affinity for the taste of coffee - although not for lack of persuasion on my coworkers' part. ;) Thanks for sharing!

I like my coffee black with vanilla stevia. Sometimes I sleep soundly. Other times the dogs wake me up every few hours. I prefer the sound sleeping.
ReplyDeleteVanilla sounds like a nice touch! :) Bummer about the dogs waking you up! I would prefer the sound sleeping, too. ;)

I love Brazilian coffee! Some of my friends say its like motor oil. :-) It is strong, but thats my fav everything else is like muddy water. Not big on flavored coffees at all.
ReplyDeleteLOL about the "motor oil" comparison! Sounds like you're all in for coffee that does its job. ;)

I like my coffee stong, dark, and served black. I'm sure that has something to do with why I'm a night owl. haha I'm also a sound sleeper, but stay up much too late. Usually reading. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'm sure there's absolutely no connection. ;) And I'm the same way when it comes to being a sound sleeper who unfortunately stays up too late (also reading or working on book-related things). I wonder if I generally sleep soundly because I'm so tired when I finally do go to bed, LOL.
