Top Ten Tuesday Turns 10! Revisiting an old TTT post...

Today's topic: pick a past TTT topic you’ve done and re-do/update it

I decided to go all the way back to July 12th, 2011 and the FIRST Top Ten Tuesday post I did. It was hosted by Jen at The Broke and The Bookish then and the topic was Authors You'd Die to Meet which I changed to Top Ten Favorite Authors. You can see my original post/list here: http://christianbookshelfreviews.blogspot.com/2011/07/top-ten-tuesday-top-ten-authors.html

It's crazy how in 9 years (!) so much can change and yet in other ways things are the same. There are a couple authors I wouldn't consider favorites anymore and others that moved higher up the list.

Here is my new, updated list (not completely in order) of my Top Ten Favorite Authors:

1. Steven James | Author of my favorite series ever (The Patrick Bowers Files) and his other fiction books are amazing as well. I've read them all and whenever he has a new book coming out, it immediately goes on my must-read list.

2. Becky Wade | I credit her books as part of the reason that I grew to love contemporary romance. She writes such great stories and I always anticipate her new releases!

3. Dani Pettrey | I remember well reading Submerged (Pettrey's debut) and it was even the first book discussion I ever hosted here (link). The characters were exactly what you hope for in a story and the suspense had me guessing until the end. That book started my love of her books and now I'm a true fan. :)

4. Denise Hunter | Denise Hunter's stories are some of my favorite contemporaries. Her recent release is already a favorite of 2020.

5. Susan May Warren | Honestly, I can't believe I didn't have her on my list in 2011...maybe because I had only read her PJ Sugar and Team Hope series then (pre-blog). Since then I've read 30 or so more of her books and they've pretty much all been amazing. :D

6. Laura Frantz | I hadn't even read a Laura Frantz book when I first did this topic...it wasn't until two weeks later or so that I finished The Colonel's Lady and that book is still a favorite today. Then the next year, I read Love's Reckoning, which took me through SO many emotions and also went on my favorites' shelf. Suffice it to say, I love Frantz's books and I've read all of them except The Frontiersman's Daughter.

7. Stacy Henrie | I've read most of Henrie's books and loved nearly all of them. She writes such amazing historical romances with characters that make you feel like they are real. I can't wait to read the few books I haven't yet.

8. Roseanna M. White | White has written some of my favorite historical series. Her Culper Ring series was the first one I read and so unbelievably good.

9. Karen Witemeyer | Witemeyer's books are always such fun historicals! I still have two older stories to read (Head in the Clouds and To Win Her Heart) and her most recent release; but, I've thoroughly enjoyed all the ones that I have read.

10. Colleen Coble | Coble is still one of my favorite suspense authors. Her latest release ended with such a cliffhanger that I am needing the next book now. LOL

What are some of YOUR favorite authors??

  2. Nice list! I don't think I've read anything by these authors so I'll have to look into them a bit. It is amazing how much reading tastes can change over the years though! Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8
