Welcome to Christian Bookshelf Reviews, Lisa!! Will you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a mom, wife and friend living in Colorado Springs. In between “life things,” I write books. Over forty so far!
What is your latest book, Deluge, about?
It’s the 5th in the River of Time Series, which follows the Betarrini and Forelli families in medieval Italy, after two girls time-travel back. In this book, they all face the Black Plague, which was grueling.
You also released the first book in your new Dystopian series, Remnants: Season of Wonder, this year. Was it harder or easier to write a book set in a post-apocalyptic future vs. Medieval Italy?
Medieval. Because with futuristic, you’re just making it all up—tons of world building. With medieval, you have SOME facts to undergird your fiction.
Do you outline your stories or are you more of a "panther"?
Used to be an outliner, chapter by chapter. Now I know the chief event that happens in each “act” of the book, and I pants my way to each of them.
What are your favorite and least favorite genres to read and why?
I’m an eclectic reader. In the last six months I’ve read dystopian, literary, a spy novel, fantasy, nonfiction…so I pretty much love it all. Except for mysteries. I’m not wild about those. I like a mystery element, but not a whole-mystery focus.
Do you have a favorite Bible verse?
It changes all the time. Currently: “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” —Psalm 143:10
Do you have a favorite song and/or movie?
Currently “Oceans” by Hillsong; movies are too numerous to mention!
What is your favorite season and why is it your fav?
Fall. Because I fare better in cooler weather and adore the colors.
Do you have any favorite summer memories or traditions?
We like to gather with extended family for at least a week in a beautiful place. For the first 45 years of my life, that was in Montana, but since the family lake place had to be sold, we’ve been exploring new territory.
If you were hosting a dinner party and could invite any five people, who would you invite?
My five closest friends. I’m an introvert. I don’t care if I ever meet anyone famous.
This-or-that questions:
Snowstorms or Thunderstorms?
Snow! It’s so snuggly!
Sweet or Salty?
Some of both—together—is perfect.
Introvert or Extrovert?
Introvert.
Cake or Cupcakes?
Cakes. Not wild about frosting.
Sneakers or Sandals?
Sandals. I’m usually barefoot at home.
The Beach or Pool?
Beach.
Heels or Flats?
Flats. I’m 5’10” and consider heels torture chambers.
Print or eBook?
Audio.
Are you currently working on any new novels? If so, could you give us a hint?
I’m working on a rewrite of REMNANTS #2 and then the 3rd in that series. After that, a new time travel novel, I think...
Thank you so much for being here! Is there anything else you’d like to tell readers and where can we find you on the web?

I've loved Lisa's River of Time series and can't wait to explore her Dystopian world in Remnant.
ReplyDeleteThis interview has shown me that Lisa and I are very much alike. I also love the beautiful colors of Fall and I prefer snowstorms over thunderstorms. I am also more of an introvert. Now, if I just had some her writing ability........
ReplyDeleteLoved the "This or That questions". Deluge was such a good book, I hope to at some point own all the books in the ROT series. Right now I only own Waterfall. I also really liked REMNANTS and cannot wait for the next one. Thank you for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteHello Lisa. I've never read this genre before. Not any if those types. But I have two granddaughters that do. So will try to win. Thanks. Oh, a question. Do you think writers being alone so much has anything in so many being introverts? I hardly know anyone that I know is that way. Maxie > mac262(at)me(dot)com <
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the River of Time series yet but I can't wait! I'm looking forward to this new dystopian series too! I love that you said that Fall is your favorite season because of the colors because I feel the same way! I love watching the colors of the leaves change - it's so beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us :)
ReplyDeleteI have heard so many good things about this series.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if my comment was posted or not so I'll try again. Just two days ago I finished reading Torrent and am hooked. Thanks for the chance to win one of her books!
