A "Just Because" Giveaway

I've been contemplating using Giveaway Tools for giveaways (it seems so much nicer than Rafflecopter!), but I wanted to make sure that you, my blog readers, would find it easy to use. So, I've decided to do a "Just Because" giveaway. ;)

Winner can choose one of these books (as long as the book is still available when the giveaway ends): Abomination by Colleen Coble, Beckon by Tom Pawlik, Miss Fortune by Sara Mills, or The Crimson Cipher by Susan Page Davis. The book will be a used copy from AbeBooks. Sorry, this giveaway is only open to US residents.

  2. The giveaway was pretty easy to use. I think I like raffle copter a little more- easier to fill out. Thank you- just because :-)

  3. I would be interested in the ease of preparing the giveaway tool and the reasons it is better than Rafflecopter, too. I'd like to be entered in the book giveaway - well, that is the reason for leaving a comment this particular time. ;) I'd also share the book with the Christian school at which I work.

    1. Thanks for entering! Some of the reasons I like Giveaway Tools better is that (1) it verifies the Picket Fences entry, (2) this form loads on Kindle Fire HD tablets (rafflecopter doesn't), (3) the ease of tweeting (no pasting the direct URL, as the form itself does that), (4) how the "Pin It" button is embedded in the form (with rafflecopter, I'd have to upgrade for that feature). That's why I'm really glad to read all these positive comments about the form! :)

  4. It's pretty easy to use. Not to different from Rafflecopter except for the fact that you enter name and e-mail at the beginning and don't have to include it in your comment (which is good!).

  6. This kind of form isn't my favorite (Rafflecopter is easier), but it's pretty easy to use. I'll gladly use any form the blogger offers to enter a giveaway. Thanks for the giveaway!

  7. It has it's pros and cons like the rafflecopter. But once I do get everything entered, this form is much easier to post the daily entries than the rafflecopter

Thanks for the giveaway! They're always fun. :)

  9. This form is easy but I think Rafflecopter is easier! Thanks for this amazing giveaway - I would love to win!

  10. Hi Melanie, This is the first time I have seen this form. I would like The Crimson Cipher by Susan Page Davis if I should win. I like historical fiction primarily and not so much mystery as the other books. Kathleen ~ Lane Hill House

  11. I don't know about yours, as this is the first "click" on your giveaway form, but there have been some of these in other giveaways that not all the buttons worked and it was frustrating. I thought it was my computer and tried it on another with same results. Hopefully that won't be the case this time.

    1. Hi Sonja, maybe the reason it didn't work those times was because the giveaway host chose "strict verification" instead of normal. Thanks for commenting. :)

  14. Thank you for the giveaway. I am used to Rafflecopter, but this looks like it will be just as good if not better.

  15. Wow, this tool is great: simple and easy to use and not so active.

  16. I have never heard of "The Crimson Cipher" before, but it looks and sounds fascinating. Thanks for the invite to your giveaway.

  17. Thanks! I just started following your blog and I've never entered in a giveaway on a blog before so I don't have anything to compare to, but that did seem pretty simple and streamlined.

  18. There are things I like about both Rafflecoptor and Giveaway Tools... I'm starting to lean more to GT since there is not as much copy/pasting links with their instant verification, and tweeting is much easier too.

  23. This is probably my second favorite form, rafflecopter being the first. It is easy to use, but sometimes you have to wait longer while the "form" checks to see if you like something or not. Otherwise it works great!

  27. The giveaway tools was easy to use. I could not pin to pinterest because the image had been moved or deleted. It cuts down on having to copy and paste some links when you tweet or go to clout or some of the other sites

  30. I'm glad you're trying GT out. I tried it once ... around Thanksgiving ... and they had some glitches where their site (and therefore my giveaways!) went down for a couple of days. BUT I think it's so much easier to use as the giveaway host. Glad to read these positive comments from others about how easy it was to use! I thought it was easy as well. I'll have to give it another shot!

    1. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the form! I'm a little nervous to hear that GT's site went down sometime around Thanksgiving - hopefully they've worked out all the glitches and that won't happen again.

  34. This is sorta like Rafflecoptor, but I like it much more. They always want you to do something but don't leave a link. Also they have gotten so unfair to FB people. Many more for Tweeters most times, and lots of people don't tweet. And always want you to share but don't have a place to share. Lots of bloggers use to have a more tab at the top where you could share. I liked that. So far, I prefer this one. I don't know of any of these books so will have to check them out later. Thanks for the give-away. Maxie

  35. I have tried both the GT format and Rafflecopter. I like this format better. Thanks for the giveaway.

  36. Both giveaway formats are pretty good, pluses and minuses to both. I honestly prefer Rafflecopter, though, for many different reasons including the ability to do a daily Tweet entry that does give you an entry everyday and isn't dependent on someone clicking your link.

Whatever you ultimately decide to use will be great and I know the wonderful giveaways will continue :)

    Blessings!

    1. Hi Jasmine,

Giveaway Tools also has a daily tweet entry - the only difference is you don't have to put the direct URL into the form as it verifies the entry automatically. Thanks for commenting! :D

  37. I like them both. It's really 6 of one, half dozen of the other for me. I'm just glad we don't have to do it the old way anymore - making a comment for each entry. Both of these are so much better than that! :)
