Review & Giveaway: Storm by Evan Angler

Storm by Evan Angler
Swipe Series: Book Three
Thomas Nelson / 2013
Find on: Amazon, Goodreads

About the book:

In a future United States under the power of a charismatic leader, everyone gets the Mark at age thirteen. The Mark lets citizen shop, go to school, and even get medical care—without it, you are on your own. Few refuse to get the Mark. Those who do . . . disappear.

Logan Langly went in to get his Mark, but he backed out at the last minute. Ever since, he’s been on the run from government agents and on a quest to find his sister Lily, who disappeared when she went to get her Mark five years earlier. His journey leads him to befriend the Dust, a vast network of Markless individuals who dissent against the iron-grip rule of the government. Along the way to the capital to find Lily, the Dust receive some startling information from the Markless community, opening their eyes to the message of Christianity and warning that humanity is now entering the End of Days.

In Storm, Logan and his friends are the leaders of the Markless revolution. But while some Markless are fighting Chancellor Cylis’ army, the Dust is busy trying to find a cure for a horrible epidemic sweeping through the Marked. And it’s difficult for them to know who to trust, especially when they aren’t sure if Logan’s sister Lily, one of the commanders in Cylis’ army, is on their side or not. And all across the nation—and the world—the weather has become less stable and a storm is brewing that bigger than any of them could have ever imagined.

My thoughts:

Having enjoyed the first two books in the Swipe series, Swipe and Sneak, I was excited to continue the story with Storm and I think I liked this one the best! It seems as the series continues, the books keep getting better (at least to me).

I was surprised by some things in Storm and there is one thing I especially loved - it was so interesting and added a nice twist to this series and Evan Angler. :)

As with the first two books, Storm was very believable. The ending was intriguing and definitely makes me want to read the next book, Spark (set to release November, 2013).

If you enjoy middle grade dystopian novels with some apocalyptic elements, I definitely think you'll like Storm. I highly recommend that you read Swipe and Sneak first, though.

*I received a complimentary ARC copy of this book for my review. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion - which I've done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.*

  18. I like your reviews and giveaways. Thank you.

  19. I think if more teens become involved in objecting to smutty reading it will have a great impact on the media. I am enraged over the new YA and Mature YA listings. It implies if you dislike reading that stuff then you aren't mature. What a bunch of baloney
Thank you for the awesome reviews and giveaways.

  20. Sounds like a great book and I want to read it! It appears the main (or central) characters are teens and I like that because it seems somewhat unusual for this type
    of book.

  21. I love Colleen Coble books. Thanks for having the giveaway.
