The closer she gets to the abductor, the more she feels this case has become personal, and she is not the hunter . . . but the hunted.

My thoughts:

The ESV Men's Devotional Bible is a quality Bible with over 300 devotionals, introductions for each book of the Bible, and several articles and resources in the back. The devotionals are placed in such a way that they apply to the chapter of the Bible that you just read or are still reading. The Bible is a good size and not too bulky/heavy, The black jacket/cover is perfect for giving it a masculine feel.

All in all, the ESV Men's Devotional Bible is a great new devotional Bible for men and I think it's also a great gift idea. I definitely recommend it!

Review: Persecuted by Robin Parrish

About the book:
"The framers of our Constitution meant we were to have freedom of religion, not freedom from religion."--Reverend Billy Graham

The Question Is Not If Attempts Will Be Made to Limit Religious Freedoms, But When.

And When That Day Comes, Will You Stay Silent?

A storm is coming.

The most popular evangelist of his day, John Luther, simply wants to share the Gospel and enjoy a quiet life with his family. He never asked to be at the center of a political controversy, but an ill wind has been blowing through the halls of Congress, and supporters of a new religious-equality bill see Luther's endorsement as critical.

But when Luther refuses to lend his support, he unknowingly sets in motion an explosive plan bent on destroying his reputation and undermining everything for which he stands. His once-normal life is turned upside down as he becomes a fugitive left with only one dangerous option--putting everything he holds most dear at risk while he fights to expose the truth. It is a mission that brings him face-to-face with the coming storm of persecution that could threaten the very fabric of our nation's freedoms.

Movie Review & Giveaway: Faith of Our Fathers

Faith of Our Fathers (2015)
Runtime: 96 minutes
Genre: Drama
Rating: PG-13 (for brief war violence)
Starring: Stephen Baldwin, Kevin Downes, David A.R. White, Rebecca St. James, Si Robertson, Candace Cameron Bure, Scott Whyte, and Sean McGowan.

About the movie:
John Paul and Wayne are two young men in search of their fathers. Problem is...their fathers have been dead for 25 years. Eddie and Steven are two young men in search of their sons...whom they've never met. In 1969, Eddie and Steven are with their squad deep in the jungle of Vietnam on a five-day mission to retrieve fallen comrades. They write letters to their wives, often mentioning their love for their sons, one, who is an infant and one yet to be born.

In 1994, John Paul and Wayne go on a five day road trip to the Vietnam Wall in Washington DC to see their fathers' names. Along the way, reading those letters, they begin to get an understanding of who their fathers were and how they died. Trials and mishaps, both funny and sad, complicate the road trip for the boys. The horrors of war and the testing of faith manifest themselves for the young men in Vietnam. Ultimately, in parallel stories - 25 years apart - the fathers and sons are bound together forever.

My thoughts:

Faith of Our Fathers was a touching movie and really enjoyable to watch. The acting was good, as was the storyline. I liked the parallel stories and how we got to see firsthand what had happened to their fathers in the war. The final scenes were very emotional

All in all, I really liked this film and recommend it if you are looking for a good inspirational movie. It was great!

Review: Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon

About the book:
Veronica doesn’t think she’s going crazy. But why can’t anyone else see the mysterious blond boy who keeps popping up wherever she goes?

When her best friend, Mackenna, invites her to spend the summer in Scotland, Veronica jumps at the opportunity to leave her complicated life behind for a few months. But the Scottish countryside holds other plans. Not only has the imaginary kilted boy followed her to Alloway, she and Mackenna uncover a strange set of rings and a very unnerving letter from Mackenna’s great aunt—and when the girls test the instructions Aunt Gracie left behind, they find themselves transported to a land that defies explanation.

Doon seems like a real-life fairy tale, complete with one prince who has eyes for Mackenna and another who looks suspiciously like the boy from Veronica’s daydreams. But Doon has a dark underbelly as well. The two girls could have everything they’ve longed for… or they could end up breaking an enchantment and find themselves trapped in a world that has become a nightmare.
