Review: Meant To Be Mine by Becky Wade

About the book:
Ty Porter has always been irresistible to Celia Park. All through high school--irresistible. When their paths cross again after college--still irresistible. This time, though, Ty seems to feel exactly the same way about Celia. Their whirlwind romance deposits them at a street-corner Las Vegas wedding chapel.

The next morning they wake to a marriage certificate and a dose of cold reality. Celia's ready to be Ty's wife, but Ty's not ready to be her husband. He's a professional bull rider, he lives on the road, and he's long planned to settle down with the hometown girl he's known since childhood.

Five and a half years pass. Celia's buried her dreams so that she can afford to raise her daughter. Ty's achieved all of his goals. Or thought he had, until he looks again into the eyes of the woman he couldn't forget and into the face of the child he never knew he had.

How much will Ty sacrifice to win back Celia's trust and prove to her that their spontaneous marriage can still become the love of a lifetime?

My thoughts:

After reading Undeniably Yours, I wasn't too sure what I'd think about Meant To Be Mine; because, while I liked that book, I didn't love it. Thankfully, Meant To Be Mine was so much better than I had anticipated and I ended up loving it!

I felt for Celia right away (literally, after chapter two...) and disliked Ty for the way he treated her. However, as the story progressed, there were glimpses of him that I liked and he redeemed himself in the end.

I really liked the romance and how Celia and Ty were "technically" married, though they hadn't seen each other for years. That made the story unique for me. It also made the romance not seem like too much.

Meant To Be Mine left me even more curious about Jake Porter and I can't wait to find out more about his story! I really liked how Meg and Bo (from book one) were in this book quite a bit and we got to see how things were going for them.

Overall, Meant To Be Mine was a great book and I think it's my favorite of Becky Wade's. There were a few things that I didn't care for all that much, but I still loved the book! I recommend it to fans of this genre.

  1. I loved this book! The message of forgiveness was great, and seeing circumstances from both perspectives really helped.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8
