Monthly Reflections (#42 & #43) ~ June & July

Photobucket

Monthly Reflections, where we take the time to reflect on the previous month.

So I completely missed posting my Monthly Reflections post last month. Sorry about that! I will be combining both June and July in this post.

My June Goals...

To read 20 books

My July Goals...

Didn't set any. :/

Books read:

I didn't have any favorites in June. Read a bunch of books for challenges and none of them were that spectacular.

Since I am not going to count rereads for favorite book of the month, Would-Be Wilderness Wife was my favorite read of July.

My thoughts on June/July:

After another great reading month in June, July ended up being a super busy and mega reading slump month. I haven't done much reading at all this month, which is frustrating when I have so many books I need to finish! Hopefully August will be better. :)

Looking ahead:

My goals for August:

Read at least 12 books total
Including 5 NetGalley books

If you want to do your own Monthly Reflections, feel free to grab the button and post about it on your blog, then leave a comment with the URL - otherwise, please share your thoughts in a comment!

Now it's your turn! What did you accomplish in June/July, what do you hope to accomplish in August?

  1. Hi, Melanie, I've been following your blog for months and kept meaning to actually comment and never quite got around to it until now. Nice to meet you!

You were much more successful with your reading this summer than I've been! My heart just wasn't in it for the month of July and I'm usually as an avid a reader as I can be working full time. :) Fingers crossed that next month will be better.

Oh, and I participated in your Monthly Reflections!

    1. Hi Carissa! Thanks for following my blog and commenting! I'm actually surprised that I finished nine books in July as I spent very little time reading -- just didn't have the motivation/desire to read. I hope that we both have a great reading month in August! :)

  2. I must have read...14 books in July? The Girl of Fire and Thorns was probably my favorite. I also read Beauty and the Beast by Jenni James; wasn't blown away.

I see you're reading the Bowers Files again! I still haven't finished the series, which is crazy because those are some of my favorite books!

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8
