Book Review/Revell Blog Tour: Deadly Pursuit: Guardians of Justice (#2) by Irene Hannon

Deadly Pursuit: A Novel (Guardians of Justice)Deadly Pursuit: A Novel by Irene Hannon

My rating: PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

I've read 4 books by Irene Hannon (5 counting 'Deadly Pursuit') and I've enjoyed each one! Before I even started 'Deadly Pursuit', I fully expected to love it and I did!

I love how Irene writes suspense novels that keep me at the "edge-of-my-seat" without gratuitous violence or vulgar language. How she weaves romance in the story that doesn't involve explicit love scenes or things similar in nature.

'Deadly Pursuit' may be my favorite book so far that I've read by Irene. It is filled with interesting characters, a thrilling plot, and of course a love story.

We first met Alison Taylor in 'Fatal Judgment' and I've liked her character ever since. In 'Deadly Pursuit', though, we meet ex-Navy SEAL Mitch Morgan. I found myself really liking his character. He seems like a nice guy with a compassionate heart. One thing he did that I found nice is he moved back home to care for his father who just had bypass surgery.

Alison has so much heartache and sadness. She was in a horrible car accident that left her in critical condition and now years later she is mostly healed - except she can never have children because she had to have a hysterectomy.  Someone is stalking her and leaving morbid gifts - dead flowers with a bingo card that has one number checked off.

Then something very cruel happens - I'm not going to say what because that will wreck an aspect of the story - and the perpetrator leaves another bingo card, this time with two numbers checked off. As you can guess, the story continues with the stalker getting closer to bingo. But what will happen to Alison when he finally reaches bingo? How far is he willing to go?

I loved this story - it was very thrilling and suspenseful. I think anyone who enjoys reading suspenseful stories will enjoy 'Deadly Pursuit'. And even though the culprits identity was known throughout, there was still alot of mystery as to what he would do next.

I loved how we still got to see Alison's brothers and how their stories progressed since 'Fatal Judgment'. I would have liked to have seen Mark Sanders again, but sadly he wasn't in 'Deadly Pursuit'- maybe he'll be in Irene Hannon's next book (I'm hoping).

I definitely recommend 'Deadly Pursuit' and I look forward to Irene Hannon's next Romantic Suspense novel.

•I received 'Deadly Pursuit' from Revell Publishing as a part of their blog tour. I was not required to give a positive review, just my honest opinion on the book which I've done.•
