Review: A Daring Sacrifice by Jody Hedlund

About the book:
In this new historical YA romance novel from author Jody Hedlund, when a young maiden dedicates her life to protecting the mistreated, she finds herself in opposition with a wealthy knight in her cruel uncle’s service—and before long, both are forced to fight their feelings for each other as well.

My thoughts:

A Daring Sacrifice is Jody Hedlund's second YA novel. I liked An Uncertain Choice (book one) a bit more than this one, but the story was still good at times...I just didn't love it, like I usually do her adult novels. It was just not attention grabbing for me and, most likely because of that, it was a little hard for me to follow the storyline 100%.

I liked the hero of the story, Collin. He seemed like a nice guy and I liked how he was willing to do pretty much anything to protect the heroine. The romance was a little too insta-love for my taste, so I didn't really enjoy that.

All in all, an okay read. I wish I would have enjoyed it more, but it wasn't a terrible read or anything -- I did like it! If you enjoy Robin Hood-themed books, I think you might enjoy A Daring Sacrifice.

  1. This one was very "meh" for me. Plus I felt it was too violent for teens. I hate all those references to medieval torture.

    1. The romance was the thing I really didn't like...I'm thinking about just sticking to Jody Hedlund's adult novels as I usually love those. :)
